Secrets To Lead Generation & Sales

Ok the title sounded cool, but these are by far NOT secrets, these are just basic internet marketing principles. Before I begin I would like to ask you some questions
Have you bought leads? Joined Co-ops ? had landing pages built for you that out off 200 people who visited only 3 became a lead for a dismal 1.5% conversion rate ?
Do you speak to leads that just don’t have the money or are ignorant enough to ask “Is this a scam?” well I am sure you have, but lets talk a little about expectations. The truth is in this industry the TIER 1 companies like Lifepath Unlimited, Polaris Media Group, and Wealth Masters International, require many skill sets. The likes of Jeremy Miner, Jenn Lawlor, Michael Force, and all the big names understand that working capital is the name of the game here but more importantly a specific skill set is required. Do you know how to sell ? Do you realize your script is ineffective? The point of getting quality leads is to have quality conversation, ARE YOU LIVING UP TO YOUR END OF THE BARGAIN ? I have coached many people beyond the Michael Oliver Natural Selling methods. My approach is not systematic, I don’t care to be your friend, what I care to do is understand the potential prospect, understand their needs, no question them into a sale but rather question them into a process, Let me explain. I have created a skeleton script that I provide my clients with explanation not on what the script says but by the psychology that is carefully crafted into the script.
Hello this is YOUR NAME, may I speak to _____________________.
The reason for this call is because you visited my website “xyz.com” (be sure to say your domain name, this creates a frame of reference in an overly populated hom based business industry)
requesting more information about starting your own business.
Now don’t worry this is not a sales call, so keep your wallet in your pocket (this allows the prospect to put their guard down and also creates an informal atmosphere that allows you to connect)
The reason for this call is simply to ask a few questions, basically qualifiers to better understand if you are a match for the home based business industry ( keyword: qualifers, when you qualify an individual you are basically asking them to sell themselves, it creates a sort of an interview kind of environment, and since almost everyone knows that in an interview they need to sell themselves to land the job, this environment will not be strange to them, it also creates the impression that the industry is only meant to a selected few, thus exclusive, kind of like the golf course down the road)
May I borrow a few minutes of your time ? ( I phrase it this way as it lets the prospect know that their time is valuable to you)

Well first off I would like to ask a few questions to see if you meet our minimum guidelines, if you make the grade I would then like to introduce you to a business that could very well be a great match for you. ( Begin the series of questions in this order)
Have you been looking at a business for sometime ?
What types of businesses have you come across ?
What has prevented you from getting started in a business up until now ?
( up until now, creates positive reinforcement)
What do you for a living ?
Whats the highest degree of education completed ?( now this is not a disqualifying question, what I look for with this question is consistency, you see a plumber with only a HS degreee who has worked the same job for 25 years may show a dire need for change but also shows a very high level of commitment, and work ethic, the college grad that has bounced around from job to job lets me know that this is an opportunity seeker that may not truly benefit me and my business beyond the initial sale, CONSISTENCY IS THE KEY ELEMENT TO THIS QUESTION)
With money aside, and never being an issue, what do you truly want out of life ?
What have you been doing as of recent to achieve those goals ?
Describe your life tomorrow if you achieved those goals today…..
Well ______________________ I have to say based on your answers, we just barely got you qualified. But that is not a bad thing, most individuals usually fumble when asked such personal questions, and I am sure you didn’t expect to be having this conversation today, and I certainly apologize.
But at this point I would like to move you along to the next step, is that ok ?

Feel free to make the script your own, but guys you have to remember you goal is not to sell on your landing page, it’s not to sell on your first call, but to get them through an entire process from initiation to business overview call, PERIOD, again I just gave you a skeleton, however this can and will be very thorough. My process has recouped many sales for individuals who feel like they have lost a sale.
But now that we know your end of the bargain is somewhat better tailored to facilitate better quality leads. I have to ask you where do these leads come from ?
Well I tell you what generating leads by infiltrating another brand IS NOT GOOD. For example Wealth Masters like to use the Lifepath Unlimited Keyword. Though logically it makes sense to cross sale, what you eventually have are your competitors clicking your ad simply to see what the hell you are doing WHY ? because everyone believes SOMEONE HAS THIS SECRET, it’s not true, and more importantly MOST OF YOU ARE ON HUGE LEARNING CURVES.
So my advice to you is focus on BACK DOOR KEYWORDS, such as home with family instead of home based business, what this does is allows you to probe the emotional incentive of an individual looking online for ways to spend more time with family. If your page is highly targeted to that emotion, what you get is a qualified lead who really has a problem you can solve, Lets not focus on money or monetary gains, this is not how business is done on the front-line. Remember people buy because they are emotionally “incentivized” think of the current state of economy, people lived beyond their means because emotionally that meant a lot to them, LOGICALLY IT JUST DIDN’T MAKE SENSE RIGHT
So your goal is to market and probe the emotional incentive’s of an individual, another example is instead of the keyphrase “make more money online” you want to use a phrase such as invest in yourself, invest in your family, learn to grow and save, things like that, this again leads me to more emotionally tied leads, that in turn are more interested in your solution than the casual make “more money online” surfer
PPC IS THE PREFERRED METHOD,
HOWEVER STOP BEING LAZY AND START WRITING, a lot of people call me and say HELP HELP, write for me help me with my business, do this, do that, and though all things are doable, I have to understand you are committed to an education and yourself and that you are willing to learn the fundamentals of blowing your business UP. Don’t admire Jeremy Miner or these so called TOP DOGS because they found a SECRET, admire them because they are passionate about THEIR OWN SUCCESS, are you passionate about yours.

Keyword Relevance – Generate Leads

When we talk about lead generation we have to talk about Search Engine Optimization, why because no matter if you are doing SEO or you are doing Pay Per Click, Google, Yahoo, and MSN have incorporated algorithms that help them fight against spammy websites and irrelevant content. When building a site, it is a good note that the Keyword should exist in the title and if possible in the domain name, In the description tag there should not be a keyword frequency of greater than 9% for instance, if your website description contains 10 words and 1 of those words happens to be your keyword, YOU ARE OVER BOARD.
Below is a break down of this very BLOG that happens to rank very well for the Keyword Lifepath Unlimited, usually doing a google dance between page 1 and page 2 . Remember though this is a break down and consider that I have a lot of content

Now for PPC we need to sort of understand, whats going on, because honestly if you are using GOOGLE adwords and have no real understanding of how you are generating quality leads at a low cost, YOU ARE BURNING THROUGH YOUR MONEY, and loosing business at that, even more frightening is that you will go out of business as you exhaust your marketing budget. So lets be smart about how we do this here
There are several different factors that affect Google AdWords Quality Score. It’s time to walk through each in detail and list the major contributing factors to each.First, it’s important to note why Quality Score matters. One’s Ad Rank(the position an ad shows on a search result or across the content network) is based upon max cost per click and quality score. The current formula is:
Ad Rank = [(keyword / ad group] quality score) X Max CPC
The reason keyword / ad group is in brackets is that for search the keyword quality score is used and for content the ad group quality score is used.
It’s very possible to pay less than your competitors and have a higher ad rank. Instead of raising bids, there are times when it’s more appropriate to raise quality score.
For keywords, every keyword has a quality score associated with it. So, when talking about the below factors, they exist at the keyword level. This is important to keep in mind when talking about ad copy (and possibly landing pages) as it will be associated with multiple keywords.
Let’s dig into the factors.
Click Through Rate on Google.com
- All time history
- Most recent history
It’s important to note, this is the CTR on Google.com only. The search network CTR does not matter. The click through rate on the content network does not matter. Google.com is the only search interface that Google can completely control and measure, therefore, it’s the only place where CTR matters (in terms of quality score, there are some other reasons CTR matters for ad serving).
The CTR is normalized by position. AdWords understands that an ad in position 1 is going to receive (on average) a higher CTR than an ad in position 5. Therefore, they aren’t going to penalize the advertisers in position 5 for having a lower click through rate than the advertiser in the first position.
The CTR is predicted by keyword. Search intent differs by keyword. The search term ‘TV’ is very ambiguous. It could be a search for TV repair, plasma TV, TV guide, TV instructions, etc. Therefore, it’s predicted CTR is low. There are times that a 2% CTR may be well above the predicted, and hence 2% could be a very high CTR. In other cases, 2% may be quite low because the term is very commercial, the user intent well known, and those search results could have CTRs in the 8%+ range.
All time history is used. A keyword’s all time CTR history within your account influences the ranking algorithm.
Most recent CTR history. The most recent impressions for a keyword matter more than the all time history. In essence, a keyword can always be saved’.
Ad Copy
How closely does your ad copy reflect your keywords? Ad Group organization is key to starting this process. Your ad copy should describe each keyword in the ad group. Each search has a different user intent, therefore, your ad copy needs to take a user’s intent for that keyword as it relates to your website in mind.
Does your ad contain the keyword? Of course, each ad can not contain every single keyword. Google understands themes, stemming, and latent semantic indexing. If your ad does not contain the keyword (the closest match), does the ad copy contain the overall theme of the keyword?
Note: the use of dynamic insertion does not mean your ad copy contains the keyword.
Quick Tip: If you split test ads, you can run an ad copy report that lists the CPC by individual ad. This may give you insight into how the ads are affecting your quality score.
Landing Page
The landing page is where a visitor is sent after clicking on an ad. Often, the quality score of a landing page and the usability of a landing page overlap from what is relevant to quality score versus what a business should be doing to provide a good user experience. Remember, Google thinks of searchers as their users, so they want them to have a good search experience so they come back to Google to search again.
The landing page should, just like the ad copy, contain the keyword or the keyword’s theme. It should also provide a unique experience for the user. Every time someone does a search, they are looking for an answer. Does your page help them find that answer?
A good example is a mortgage form. If someone searches for ‘3 year arm mortgage’, are you sending them to a mortgage form fill? Do they have the opportunity to understand the difference between a ‘3 year arm mortgage’ and an ‘interest only mortgage’?
Here’s a quick checklist for landing pages:
- Does your page collect personal information?
- If so, does it have an SSL certificate and a privacy policy?
- Do you have an ‘about us’ page?
- Do you have a ‘contact us’ page?
- Do you have relevant information to the search query?
- Do you have unique information?
- Do you have related content to the search query?
Account Quality Score
I’ll dig into the account quality score more in-depth later. However, the account quality score is used in the keyword quality score formula, so it’s important to define it somewhat.
If you think about all of your keywords and how many impressions and clicks each one received, you could ‘roll up’ your entire account into a single quality score. This is essentially how high (or low) of a quality your entire account has. While this has little impact upon the keyword quality score, it does have some influence. Therefore, under performing keywords can hurt your quality score.
Closing Thoughts
Once upon a time, Google used a straightforward CTR X CPC method of determining ad rank. This maximized profits. The higher your CTR and the more you bid, the more Google made from each ad position. Quality score doesn’t maximize short term profits – it a move to maximize long term revenue. Google thinks of searchers as their users. If a searcher has a good experience on Google.com, they are more likely to come back and search again, click again, and increase lifetime visitor values.
What quality score does is try to ensure that searchers are having a good experience. If you make decisions around maximizing the user experience, odds are you will be maximizing your quality score in the process. This is not only good from an AdWords quality score standpoint, it’s also good for your website as users are more likely to come back to your site when they have a similar question.
If you are using automated software to change bids based upon some criteria, you shouldn’t just rely on the technology to make all of your decisions, you should also make sure you have a high quality score so that the technology isn’t just changing bids for low quality score keywords and ad copy. Since PPC is the new SEO, how do SEOs do their work? I don’t think you’ll see too many good SEOs automating all of their decision making processes (some – yes, all -no). The same goes for PPC.
Quality score can sound intimidating. It can be frustrating at times. However, once you start to break it down into each factor, and then maximize each of those factors, it’s a very manageable process.
Your quality score is one of the most important items you can understand and improve to help your AdWords rankings. The higher your quality score, the less you are going to pay per click, and the more potential exposure.

Polaris Media Group

The grand daddy has a child and well it’s called Polaris Media Group. As I was doing research I found a press release about a “NEW COMPANY” I say “new” and not “all-new” because this is a re-incarnation of Liberty League International. We all may know them as the BIG BAD WOLVES OF NETWORK MARKETING, in constant battle the likes of Emerald Passport, Coastal Vacation, Carbon Copy Pro, they even spawned the likes of Allen Nettles and Joe Neid, who eventually formed Lifepath Unlimited
“Liberty League International, a personal development company that assists individuals develop an entrepreneurial spirit and improve their lives, has a new name, a new look and a new line of entrepreneurial educational publications and DVDs. The new name is Polaris Media Group, the new look can be seen on their website”
Now what makes me excited about this company is the fact that “It’s New” with a new image and new presentation, you see what plagued Liberty League in the past was their inability to properly moderate their distributors, the company was a public relations disaster, and just like Web 2.0 was the catch phrase just 5 years ago, I had never heard of “AG” or Attorney General being so synonymous with ONE COMPANY, But there was no truth in this none whatsoever, the blogs, the forums ran rampant with false allegations. Representatives from other companies such as Emerald Passport and Coastal Vacations, began the false advertisements, very similar in what Wealth Master’s and Carbon Copy Pro are doing to Lifepath Unlimited. Polaris Media Group has new life, kind of like when Datsun became Nissan.
So what really get’s me excited about Polaris Media Group ? the new beginning the chance to do it right internally and at the distributor level. Their site looks great and if things are truly thought out the right way Polaris Media Group can certainly find themselves in a great situation. IF THEIR DISTRIBUTORS KNOW HOW TO MARKET.
Now I am not familiar with Polaris Media Group culture but I am very familiar with LLI, or Liberty League, and I will say this, it was not pretty. Having begun my young entrepreneurial career with Liberty League back in 2001 I realized rather quickly that there was a DIY subculture, one that hid within the shadows of the “WE WILL TRAIN YOU AND SUPPORT YOU” mantra. With great work and fortune I turned an accident into multi-millions, learning how to market and market effectively, learning to generate leads and do so effectively. I hope and prey Polaris Media Group has payed attention to the lessons of Liberty League International, and hope they will truly provide the marketing training much more elemental than cookie cutter systems, and if that is not the case well just thank god there is this BLOG that will educate you beyond your imagination.

Wealth Masters International, Michael Force

Go ahead and do a search on Lifepath Unlimited and you will find all these Wealth Master’s guys marketing, or should I say bad mouthing Lifepath Unlimited. Now the fact that I am not a Lifepath Unlimited distributor does not mean I can not stand up for “GOOD” marketing. Is this what is all comes down too ? Bad mouth someone else so that their potential prospects can look your way ? I call it a flagrant cheap shot by these wealth masters, Is that the proven system ?
It reminds me of General Motors most recent campaign to compare their cars to foreign far superior products. It’s cheap, instead of putting out a quality product the ploy here is to undermine the superior quality of the next guy. This will not save General Motors, what will is providing a product that people actually want. Now Wealth Masters International has a totally different product offering than Lifepath Unlimited, so how can you compare ? What these ad’s focus on is the income potential, going as far as saying that Wealth Master’s International will help you generate more money because it is a better business. Ok Johnny so after you sign someone up what the hell do you teach them ? To be bashing little bitches like Michael Force, mister top income earner who bashes, promises and than leaves his organization to fence for themselves. This is not marketing guys this is pure deception.

This ad is a Michael Force ad, with a BLATANT LIE, Michael Force never did work Lifepath Unlimited, he is a self proclaimed internet GURU who says his goal is to help 100 people become internet millionaires. WHAT ? It took many years before I reached my goal of amassing millions online, IT TOOK ME 7 years. Does Michael Force have 700 years worth of time to help 100 other people ? This makes no sense.
