Is it important ? you bet your ass, yet so many marketers or online newbies forget the basics to website optimization. Hey I don’t blame you for falling victim to super duper cool marketing systems, they are freaking sexy, but when you actually start using them you suddenly realize that the sex appeal and promise of niche market domination is as merit-less as the hot chick with the killer rack who suddenly admits to breast implants…It all looks great, but when you feel it out … it’s nothing but fabricated, aesthetically pleasing, trophy wife nominating, functionless lard (try breast feeding with those puppies) YOU ARE NOT WINNING!

What is anchor text ? Well Wikipedia says ( and I use wikipedia because I have not devised a cool way of defining anchor text at the moment of writing this post)
The anchor text, link label or link text is the visible, clickable text in a hyperlink. The words contained in the anchor text can determine the ranking that the page will receive by search engines.
You see the word hyperlink ? it holds much more value than a plain URL link: such as http://lifepathunlimited.ianoint.com
WHY ?
Because it is a descriptive link that tells the search engines primarily what the content is about. Google, Yahoo, and Bing use these suggestive links to better rank a sight based on search queries.
Anchor Text Power
I did a case study to better understand the important of Anchor Text and Hyperlinks – as many SEO’ers including myself believe that backlinks or anchor text backlinks are a heave component to the GOOGLE RANKING ALGORITHM , me being an SEO SCIENTIST … I decided hmmm let me put this to the test …
RESULTS:
Now I created an anchor text hyperlink that I used as a signature line, in a forum that I contribute content to frequently … the anchor text title was get real insight to marketing online (click image to enlarge)
Why Use Anchor Text
Ranked First Page Position 1 ?
To my amazement or not to my amazement as this was just a test …We are able to specifically see… that the weight value distribution of Anchor Text can actually outweigh the value of content to a certain degree. This truth has spawned many new marketers to engage in what is called LINK SPAMMING…meaning linking in the form of anchor text anywhere and everywhere at a rate of 10 or more links per day…This gets GOOGLES ATTENTION IT REALLY DOES and can land your newly minted site in the dog house, and get your site banned.
I will revise this test and change the anchor text variable to “search engine optimization” and report back soon.
For new websites and webmasters please do not view this as a solve all to market dominance as you will need to implement other SEO factors to better take advantage of the awesome power of the anchor text variable …
