until about a week ago, i had never heard anything about richard pryor except his name and i saw this richard pryor–starwars bar video and thought, this is probably gonna be some dumb corny shit.
Holy Shit! That was one of the funniest things I have ever seen.

Since then, Ive seen a lot of his stuff and Im a huge fan.

I remember seeing this on TV when I was in high school and wondering how in hell the network censors let him get away with the “octopussy” gag. Pryor’s comedy was an elegant weapon, for a more civilized age.

I am honored to have seen this on television back in the day. When the DVD set came out and I saw this again; not only did I laugh, but I also wondered: George Lucas & 20th Century Fox actually OKd this? WoW! There will never be another like Richard Pryor. He is the Great One (high or not)!
